Ilona Bessenyey
Ilona Bessenyey specializes in the area of Elder Law and Inter-Generational Issues for Alaska’s families. She is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Medicaid Practice System, a 17 year member of the Alaska Bar Association and one of the co-chairs of the Elder Law Section of the Alaska Bar Association.

Ms. Bessenyey is a partner in the law firm of BESSENYEY & VAN TUYN, L.L.C. She received her B.S. degree in Social Work at the University of Vermont in 1983. She received her J.D. degree magna cum laude from Vermont Law School in 1989 and was admitted to the Alaska Bar that same year. She has been in private practice for 10 years. Prior to that, she worked with Alaska Legal Services Corporation as an attorney and supervisor in the Anchorage office.
As an Elder Law attorney, she focuses on the unique needs and issues facing the elderly, the disabled and their families.
